The Brazilian is expected to cost PSG an eye-watering £198m. And if the transfer is completed, Barca will have plenty of cash to splash. Messi is hugely influential figure at the La Liga giants. And Don Balon say he’s given club bigwigs his verdict on other potential targets. It’s suggested Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho is still a potential arrival. Don Balon claim the Reds and Barca already have a principle agreement – but negotiations are still taking place. PSG midfielder Marco Verratti is viewed an alternative option to Coutinho. Messi is also keen for Barca to strengthen their back line. The 30-year-old is an admirer of PSG centre-back Marquinhos. Athletic Bilbao ace Aymeric Laporte, who has also been linked with Real Madrid, is another contender.
