Budget 2018: State House to spend N11bn

 545 billion, as contained in the 2018 budget. This is against the N447.375 million earmarked for vehicles in 2017 budget. Estimates for vehicles in the 2018 budget include N100.8 million to buy three SUVs; N97.2 million for three 16-seater buses; N54 million for coaster vehicles; while tyres for various categories of cars and trucks were allocated N94.575 million. The Aso Villa Clinic, which had been in the media, lately, for lack of equipment and medicine, was allocated N1.030 billion in the new budget. 

According to the budget details, Office of the Chief Security Officer to the President was allocated N777.427 million. Honorarium and sitting allowance got N478.313 million; foodstuffs and catering services N143.143 million; refreshments was allocated N135. 688 million. 

Maintenance services would gulp N416.251 million; utilities, N476.869 million. Under utilities, electricity would take N274.798 million; internet, N67.108 million; water, N65.684 million; sewage, N45.418 million and telephone, N23.862 million. 

Fuel and lubricants were allocated N132.199 million. Computer software got N120.159; scanners, N6.7 million and copiers, N27 million. In the 2017 budget, computers were allocated the sum of N14.5 million. Digital medical reference N15.834 million in the State House. 

Conservation/upgrade of Villa ranch was allocated N28.908 million; while construction of wildlife conservation capture was earmarked N65.4 million. Rehabilitation of animal enclosure and procurement of veterinary laboratory equally received an allocation of N12.489 million. 

In the 2017 budget, Villa wildlife was allocated N284.587 million. The Ministry of Petroleum Resources has earmarked N610 million for the implementation of the ‘Seven Big Wins’, a programme designed by the ministry to reform the petroleum industry. The Seven Big Wins document, according to the ministry, is aimed at developing a stable and enabling oil and gas landscape with improved transparency, efficiency, stable investment climate, and a well protected environment.
