NEWS HEADLINE: DISCOVERING OF DIFFERENT CONTRA- BANNED AND UNREGISTER GOODS/PRODUCT WORTH MILLIONS OF NIARA IN ONITSHA ANAMBRA STATE.

NEWS HEADLINE: DISCOVERING  OF DIFFERENT CONTRA- BANNED AND UNREGISTER GOODS/PRODUCT WORTH MILLIONS OF NIARA IN ONITSHA ANAMBRA STATE.

Mrs Christiana Essenwa, a Deputy Director of NAFDAC,  On her report, discovers Contra banned products in an uncompleted story building.furtherly She mention the name  of the contra-banned goods which is as follows:
  • RICE
  • VEGETABLE OIL
  • TOMATO PASTE,
  • TOMATO KETCHUP
  • TOILET AND MEDICATED SOAPS.
  • CREAMS
  • COSMETICS
  • TOOTHPASTE 
  • FURNITURE
  • PLASTIC PRODUCTS
  • TEXTILES
  • ELECTRICAL CABLES  
all this items imported in one 40 feet container.
Essenwa  shows his concern by saying in spite of the federal government bans, the importers and some of the businessmen ignore the hazardous treat to the life of the consumers that will fall a victim of buying all those bans product. 

despite the highly of education almost 70% of the consumers will not still identifies they are contra-banned product because all those product are written in foreign language.

 from the report the vegetable oil amongst the items doesn't have the eye logo, signifying that it is not fortified with vitamin A. 

 Essenwa added.................
“We are going to confiscate all the product and get them ready for demolition,”
 Further more, She said some of the seized products which include cables,  plastics and textiles,  also required and need the involvement of the Standards Organisation of Nigeria, SON, to verify the quality of the items.

 Mrs Christiana Essenwa, a Deputy Director of NAFDAC, warns and strictly advice and said the discovery was made following a tip-off and she want the masses to be  more careful and checkmate/ scan through the products on display in the market before selecting. She furtherly said: 

“Check whether the product has a NAFDAC registration number; the labelling condition, manufacturing address and, the expiry date.whether it was written in foreign language all through; 

 an industrialist, Mr. Steve Evans, the Manager of Evans Industries Limited, decried the importation of fake products into the country, is the act of “economic sabotage.” Evans pleaded an ask the Federal Government to wake up and takes fully action  on fake products being imported in the country.
